What is Spiritual Direction?

Christian Spiritual irection is a practice that encourages individuals to deepen their relationship with God through guided reflection and conversation. This process involves a spiritual director, who has gone through at least 2 years of specialized training and who listens attentively and provides a safe space for individuals to explore their spiritual experiences. The director helps the seeker discern God's presence and guidance in their life, fostering a deeper understanding of their faith journey.

Spiritual direction is not about offering solutions or advice; rather, it empowers individuals to tap into their own inner wisdom and relationship with God. By creating a space for contemplation, individuals can reflect on their prayer life, thoughts, feelings, and experiences, enabling greater clarity and peace in their spiritual walk. This practice can be particularly beneficial for those facing challenges, seeking direction, or yearning for a more profound connection with their faith.

Ultimately, Christian spiritual direction serves as a compass for believers, helping them navigate their spiritual landscapes with intention and insight. It can facilitate personal growth, enhance one's prayer life, and cultivate a deeper sense of community within the Church. Through this journey, individuals often find renewed strength and purpose in their faith, allowing them to live more fully in alignment with their Christian values.

Inner Life Coach Spiritual Direction is offered both in person (in the KC area) or online via Zoom. Sessions last one hour an can occur weekly, every two weeks or monthly. Our recommendation is every two weeks, with weekly sessions if you are having problems or when you first start, to get more quickly established. Fees can vary from free to $35 per session, depending upon your income.
